The Story
This is more a poem then a story but it is what had happened to me:
Without me even mentioning anything about the situation - His friend sent me an email today that said, "I think you were just too nice for him."
Why, out of the 100 guys out there that would do anything to be with me, am I hung up on the one who wouldn't?
It really fucking affected me, which sucks, because he doesn't deserve that much credit.
But, the more time that passes, the more I honestly can't stand him.
I never regret anything.
When something unfavorable happens in my life I look at it and say, "Yah know what? I'm glad this happened, because I've learned from it, and become a better person because of it."
Not with this.
I'm not glad I knew him.
It's my first regret, ever.
Maybe that sounds overly-dramatic.
Because in most people's worlds, something like this would be nothing.
I'm just so naive that nothing quite like this has ever happened to me.
So I'll remember it forever.
I'll remember all the pathetic lines he fed to me and SWORE he meant.
I'll remember how strangely immature he acted.
I'll remember the naive way I was blind to everything.
I'll remember ignoring my instincts, because I wanted so badly to be wrong.
I'll remember how I was completely blown-off and disrespected.
And I'll remember that this is what happens when you let your heart trust.
Fuck how you never, even for a minute, acted like you were interested in getting to know me, yet both of your friends did, and STILL talk to me and tell me how great I am.
Fuck that you never once said "Thank You."
Fuck your talking shit about every car not being "traditonal" enough, yet you drive a fucking Honda.
"In the end, you'll always lose at the game."
The human race is fucking disgusting. We all lie, cheat, steal, manipulate, and do things that benefit ourselves with no care to the damage we do to others.
It's just a matter of where we personally draw the line.
Those with trusting hearts are usually damaged souls.
We trust, because, we want so badly.
It doesn't mean we don't hurt others.
It just means we get burned more often.
In my case, it's the fault of ignoring personality traits due to being blinded by the physical ones.
I know he wasn't what I wanted.
I have known, even before.
I still would have been with him though.
And "God" must be out there protecting me,
Because I had more blatant signs to keep me away from him than I've ever had about anyone/anything else in my life.
I know I deserve, and can do better.
But where is better?
I'm tired of waiting...
