The Story
I met a woman through work, we fell in love, or so I thought! We got very close, her name was, we'll call her Auds. I thought she was so beautiful, person and looking. We spent loads of time talking and seemed so alike. She was engaged and lived with a guy along with his two kids, she also had two kids. I was married. It became obvious we had real feelings for one another. We would meet for hot chocs before or after work, we decided to do the right thing, rather than have an affair, we both end our relationships. This we did and, just before Christmas, and here's the rub, she insisted I tell my wife the truth, that I didn't love her and was off to start a new life with Auds. This I did, she was distraught. Auds ended hers, the guy and his two kids moved out, we' ll call him Kev. However it turns out she told him nothing, other than she needed time. Christmas was amazing. I went all out, put my heart and soul in her presents, tried to make them personal to her. She loved them,in fact, she said it was the best ever and I knew her so well. I felt great, had I found a soulmate? New year came, we spent all of it together, she had some friends round, I got Chinese lanterns, at midnight we set them off and made a wish, they floated up into a clear Scottish sky, I felt happy and thought life was good. Just after new year we went away up north, to a small hotel, for a few days. This was bliss, four poster bed, jacuzzi in the room, we sat in it for hours, drinking champagne and planning our future. We came back, I put my house on the market and began to deal with the emotional and financial side of a break up. It kinda wore me out, but we had spoke about this and of supporting each other. For a couple of days I was a bit down and didn't text her 20 times an hour, she took umbridge at this. I explained I was a bit worn and would be fine in a day or so. She went off on one, accused my of being depressed, said she couldn't have someone like that in her kids life, what the ? I was dazed and confused. I was just a bit down and needed support, bumps in the road and all that. She said, by text, it was over. I decided to wait a day or two, and then I contacted her, her replies were ok but not like they used to be, you know, no I love u or kisses, but did hint we'd be ok. This went on for three weeks, I spoke to her in work, but as no one knew about us it was difficult. Then one night I got the text, she was in love and back with Kev. Stabbed in the heart, the pain was the worst. What a clown I had been, threw it all away for someone so callous, so deceitful, so ugly inside. I feel sorry for me, for being so stupid, I wish I could hate her, but at the mo I still love her, truly, madly, deeply. I feel sorry for her, cause she has run back to what she thinks is safe, when the dust settles, she will be back where she started, unhappy, in a relationship she didn't want. I feel sorry for Kev, he knows nothing about us, he is in a relationship based on lies a deceit and leopards don't change their spots, but we live in a small world and one day he will know. Me? Life is an adventure, I'm off to live it, and who knows, maybe find love and a soulmate along the way. Love conquers all!!!!
