The Story

I'm only 20 and I already have a pretty bad memory. I can barely remember the names of my teachers from grade school along with half my childhood. But there is one early memory that I could never forget and that was when I was just 5 years old. I know this because I have a picture of "my one true love" and on the back it says Christopher Valentine, age 5. And yes, that was his name, Christopher Valentine. It suited him too. He was real suave. He had this really full lush hair. I swear the boy could have been on Bay Watch... that is, if he wasn't 5 years old.

Well, I knew from the moment I first laid eyes on Christopher Valentine that he was my one true love. It killed me! We became pretty close too, you know, our moms took us to play group together and we even performed in a talent show as a country western band. I remember real well a time when I started to fantasize about kissing Christopher some day. I would imagine it and plan it out and finally there came the perfect opportunity! Christopher was having a birthday party and I happened to be the only girl going. I remember being at his house with all those stinky boys with cooties but it was all worth it because I was there for Christopher. We started to play a game, I dont remember if it was hide and go seek or sardines or what but we were all spread out around the house. And there it was, the golden opportunity, Christopher and I, alone in his room... on the top bunk of his bunk bed no less! There we were, emotions running high, and...and.......... and his mom walked in. It nearly killed me.

Well, I dont remember how it all ended but before I knew it Christopher was in love with a new girl, my best friend actually, Elyssa Peterson. We are still good friends to this day so I dont hold it against her but man alive, I was crushed. I've long since moved on in more ways than one. I haven't seen Christopher since I moved out of the neighborhood almost 15 years ago. But I will never forget you Christopher Valentine, wherever you are!
